Learning Enrichment

The Learning Enrichment program at Our Lady of Grace identifies and supports students of high academic ability by providing opportunities for extension and enrichment.

The aim of the program is to exhilarate students’ learning by providing creative, thought provoking and challenging learning opportunities. Students utilise a variety of thinking strategies and learning styles to assist them in furthering their metacognitive processes.
These courses are designed to provide learning opportunities that inspire and challenge high ability students to work to their fullest potential within a small group of peers who have similar educational needs.

Across the school and in all learning areas, teachers differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of all students, develop higher-order thinking skills and provide coursework that continually challenges the students’ mindsets.

Teachers regularly assess students to ensure these academic programs meet their needs.

In addition, a diverse range of enrichment activities, including competitions and visiting speakers, provides thought-provoking and interesting challenges. Students are encouraged to develop their creative, critical and problem-solving skills through events such as (but not limited to):

  • Tournament of Minds
  • Chess
  • Competitions
  • RoboCup
  • Performing Arts
